Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday - Grace

Happy Wednesday Krafty friends, it's again time for this week's WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY  challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Our Wonderful Wednesday challenges are always ANYTHING GOES, so there is really no reason for you not to play along. We do love when you show off your Kraftin' Kimmie images, however we also love for everyone to join our fun challenge, so please ink up whatever stamp you are inspired to use.

Create a NEW card, layout or altered item and share with us over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog. You can play along each Wednesday. At the end of the month a random winner will be drawn from all of the participants. Remember if you do use a Kraftin' Kimmie image you will double your chance of winning.

For my card I used the sweet Moonlight Whispers image called GRACE.

This image is perfect for a Christmas card and went so well with the lovely paper from We R Memory Keeper Silver and Gold. The baking embellishments and flowers are from Michaels. The flowers were all white and I used my R24 refill to paint some of the flowers red.

Here is a look at the inside of my card. I love to re-stamp my image from the front of a card in a coordinating colour on the inside and then decorate with some of the paper used on the card. It's a great way to use scraps.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card featuring the darling GRACE from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I hope that you will play along with this week's Wonderful Wednesday challenge.

Have a Krafty Day!

Little Red Wagon #265 Wishy Washi

It's once again time for another challenge at......

This week Heather is our FABULOUS hostess and her challenge is called WISHY WASHI! That's right crafty friends, grab your rolls of WASHI tape and let's start creating.

I don't know about you, but I have a rather large washi stash. However it is one of those craft supplies that I use more to hold my dies in place than to actually decorate my cards and layouts. That said, I was excited for the chance to use my lovely tape to pretty up my card this week.

I created a simple card this week using a Fiskar's Stamp called LATTE LOVE. I added a small strip of pattern paper behind my image and used the washi tape to add a pop of colour to my white and black background.

Grab your WASHI TAPE and play along with this week's WISHY WASHI challenge. Link up your project over at the Little Red Wagon blog and don't forget to check out the inspiration the Girlfriends are dishing up.

Guess what? Little Red Wagon is having a Design Team call. You can see all of the detail on the post here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

YNS November Feature Day - Sweet Holiday Greetings

So what did you think of the November Your Next Stamp release? Are you thinking about Christmas yet? I am not really looking forward to the shopping side of the holidays (I never am), but I do get excited each year as I work on my Christmas cards.

Today on the Your Next Stamps blog our Feature post this month is all about Winter and Christmas projects. I created a simple card using the Sweet Holiday Greetings Stamp set.

My delicious cookies were stamped on Kraft cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers.

For the inside I added a sentiment from the Winter Home stamp set.

Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog to check out all of the design team member sharing projects for today's Winter/Christmas Feature post. Remember to leave a comment on the YNS Feature blog for a chance to win a prize.

Thanks for stopping by and have a super crafty Saturday.

YNS Sketch and Colour Challenge # 2

I hope you are loving the new sketch and colour challenges at Your Next Stamp.

Every two weeks we have another amazing sketch and gorgeous colour choices to work with. You can find inspiration with the sketch or the colour or both, just not neither. You can play along with this challenge until November 27. Grab your stamps and lets get crafty!

This week I worked with the sketch and inked up the darling Santa Express. When I saw the circle on the sketch my thought immediately went to a tunnel and Santa in his train. So this image was a no brainer for my inspiration.

My image is coloured with Copic markers and I used a little bit of Sparkling fluff on the trim of Santa's hat and coat. I really have been enjoying the red with aqua as a bit of a change for Christmas colours and the paper in the Pebbles Home for Christmas paper was perfect.

I just adore the sentiments with this fun set. For my card I fussy cut the image, because I didn't want the border around this time. However there is a Santa Express die set that is amazing.

Grab your stamps and join the Your Next Stamps Sketch and Colour Challenge #2.

There is a prize of a $15 gift certificate to the YNS store for one random participant ($20 if a YNS stamp or die is the main feature on your card). There is also a chance to be selected as the YNS top pick. For this honour you MUST use a YNS or die.

Thanks for joining me today. Have a Fabulous Friday!

Little Red Wagon # 264 - Layer it Up (Elf Ellie)

I am excited to be the host of this week's challenge at Little Red Wagon. I am also very excited to have my card featured on the The Paper Nest Dolls blog. This is my second opportunity having a card featured on the blog.

Since we appear to be facing a barrage of winter snow, ice and cold winds, my challenge for this week is appropriately named LAYER IT UP! That's right no CAS this week. Load up the paper and embellishments and come play along.

Creating a card with layers is never a problem for me. I generally like to use 3 or 4 pattern papers on my card, in addition to at least one coordinating cardstock to mat everything. On many of my recent cards I have also been including a variety of embellishments.

Today my card features an adorable image from The Paper Nest Dolls called Elf Ellie. I coloured this holiday cutie in teal and red and used paper from the 6x6 Pebbles Home for Christmas Collection.

I had a mixture of flowers in my stash, but unfortunately none in red or teal. I did have a lot of white flowers and so I used my Copic markers to colour them. Actually it was my Copic refill and a paint brush, but it worked so well.

Of course, layers aren't just for the outside of your card. Inside I mirrored the cardstock colours from the front and used the left over pattern paper to decorate the inside. I didn't use a second image this time, but I added a sentiment from Your Next Stamp's Holiday Sentiments set.

No matter what the weather is like where you are, I hope you will play along with this week's LAYER IT UP challenge at Little Red Wagon. Don't forget to check out each of the Girlfriends projects for additional inspiration.

Thanks for dropping by today and have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Note Holder Tutorial

Hello Krafty Peeps, today I am hosting a fun tutorial over on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. I am showing you how to create an Easel style note holder. These are wonderful gift ideas, perfect for teachers, coworkers and friends.

Some of the Supplies you will need:
  • 3x3 post-it notes
  • Strong cardstock for your base (I use 110 lb. white cardstock)
  • Pattern paper and coordinating Yardstick
  • Small Image - I am using Pretty Little Pixies
  • Embellishments
Using your heavy cardstock, cut your easel base at 10 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Score your base at 5", 5 1/2" and 8" inches.

This is how your base will look after you score.

Again, using your heavy weight cardstock, cut your note base at 4 1/8' x 4 1/8 inches. Although the note size is 3x3 inches, I have often found cutting the base at 4"x4", some of my notes don't fit well. The extra 1/8" gives enough room depending the type of notes you are using.

Score on each side at 1/2" inches and make a cut on each size.

If you want to decorate your note holder you will now want to cut your pattern paper and coordinating cardstock. Most cases my cardstock will be 1/8" smaller than the base and the pattern paper 1/8" smaller than the cardstock. Here are the measurements for my pieces.

Easel Base:
  • 1 cardstock @ 4 7/8" x 4 3/8" and 1 pattern paper @ 4 3/4" x 4 1/4"
  • 2 cardstock @ 4 3/8" x 2 3/8" and 2 pattern paper @ 4 1/4" x 2 1/4" (I like to cut two because I add the second paper to the back of my holder so it looks complete from all sides)
  • For my image, I cut a scalloped circle 3" and pattern paper circles 2.5"
Note Base:
  • 3 cardstock @ 3" x 3/8" and 3 pattern paper @ 2 7/8 x 1/4"
For the note base, adhere your cardstock and pattern paper. Then use a small circle punch (3/4") to cut out a notch on one side. Assemble your box for your notes to sit in.

Decorate your easel base with your cardstock, pattern paper and image of your choice. I used one of the sweet images from Pretty Little Pixies.

I decorated the rest of the easel with additional layers of pattern paper, flowers and a few charms.

Here is the easel note holder when it is closed.

If you are looking for other ideas for decorating your easel note holder, here is another one I made using the Smarty Pants set.

Have a wonderful Krafty Day!

Hello again Krafty friends, today is day TWO of our November release previews at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  The Krafty Girls and I are FAIRY sure that you are going to love the new Moonlight Whispers images from talented artist Annie Rodrigue. This month we are excited to add TWO new fairy images........ the spectacular SNOWBALL fairy and the incredible ICY fairy.

My card today is featuring the SNOWBALL fairy.

Have you had any snow yet? I think the Winter fairies in my area, have been having a bit of fun and I can tell you I wasn't ready. Had to race out and get boots for my oldest daughter, oh and mitts because since last winter my kids seemed to have lost 1 mitts from each pair they have.

I love the new fairy images and had a lot of fun creating with this sassy SNOWBALL Fairy. I used the Pebbles Home for Christmas collection and just love the red and aqua colours for Christmas/winter cards. I finally managed to add cheese cloth to a Christmas card (not just a Halloween embellishment) and coordinated a few flowers, a key and fun zipper.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the lovely creations featuring the darling WINTER FAIRIES. Flutter along the rest of today's preview hop and check out the fabulous work by my fellow Krafty Girls and our Guests.
