Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Distress It!

Hello Krafty Friends. it's time for the latest challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I am your Krafty hostess this week and my challenge for you is to DISTRESS IT!

Grab your stamps (all are welcome) and create a NEW card, layout or altered item to match this week's theme. You can share it with us on Krafty Friends Facebook in our group (here) or link up over at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. You have all week to play along and there is a chance to WIN $10 gift card to the KKS shop. If you do use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your project, you will double your chance to win.

Distressing is one of my favourite go to techniques. So many images and paper really work with distressing and there are many fun ways for you to distress. My go to distressing techniques are inking, fraying the edges of my paper and tearing portions of my paper.

Today I worked with our BBQ dude from the WILD AND CRAZY GUYS. This set was part of the May release. I distressed the edges and inked up all of the paper (Simple Stories Take a Hike) on my fun Father's day card.

On my image I tried to create the look of burnt paper. To do this I trimmed around the image with scissors, making sure that I was NOT straight with my cuts. I inked the edges with Vintage photo bringing the ink in a little from the edge of the paper. I then use black soot ink and ink just on the edge off the paper.

Here is a look at the inside of my card.

Grab you paper and stamps and play along with this week's DISTRESS IT challenge. Head over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog to see more about this week's challenge have look at some inspiration from my talented teammates.

Have you checked out the FRUGAL FRIDAY sales going on right now. There are dozens of stamps currently on sale, so you will want to check it out. The sale is only for the weekend.

Your Next Stamp - May Feature Day

Welcome to the May YOUR NEXT STAMP feature post. Each month the design team posts creations to inspire you, using specific themes or stamps. This month, we are showing off projects that are based on a CASE of one of our fellow design team members.

This is not as easy as it seems. My team-mates are so talented, that I couldn't decide which wonderful card to case! I finally settle on a recent card by Angel from the May release. She used Maki a Wish. You can see her original post for this card (here)!

Angel's Card I cased!

I had fun playing around with Angel's card design. I used the DINO-MITE stamps along with the matching die and showcased the cute dinosaur using the STITCHING CIRCLE DIE. In place of the GUMDROPS (enamel dots) I used the MINI INK SPLATTER stamp.

The paper is Bundle of Joy (Boy) from Echo Park. The dino image is coloured with Copic Markers.

Here is a look at the inside of the card

PRIZE ALERT

Head over to to the YNS blog to see all of the DT members sharing projects for today's feature. Leave a comment on the blog post for the May feature and you will have a chance to win a prize.  One lucky stamper will win a YNS stamp set of their choice!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a super crafty day!

Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge # 14

Welcome to our sketch and colour challenge #14 at Your Next Stamp. Each challenge includes a sketch and colour options to inspire you.

Create a project based on the sketch and/or the colour combination. If you are working with the colours use at least 3 of the colours and you can add only neutrals.

For my card I used a bit of the sketch, however found my inspiration with the fun colours. I played around with the Fun With Squares die and used up some scraps of paper in my stash. To finish off my sweet flowers I added a few Apricot and Olive Green Gumdrops (enamel dots).

The "Sweet Thanks" sentiment is from the Jessica with Cupcakes set.

Here is a look at the inside of the care using a few of the other squares that were created when using the die. I love the put all my left over pieces together with my die. You never know when a little piece will come in handy.

For our sketch and colour challenge # 14 you have until May 28th (midnight) to play along. You can see more inspiration and link up your projects over at Your Next Stamp.

One random participant will WIN a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature a YNS stamp or die (must be the main focal point) you will receive and additional $5. When you use a YNS image there is also a chance of being selected as a YNS Top Pick. That's right, bragging rights for you and a fabulous badge to show off on your blog! Sounds exciting right? Ink up your stamps and show us your crafty stuff!

Have a fabulous and crafty Friday friends!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps (Wonderful Wednesday) / Little Red Wagon (To Die For)

Welcome friends. Today I have a dual post for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Little Red Wagon.

Did you know the Wonderful Wednesday challenges at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are ANYTHING GOES? We love when you use a KKS (and it doubles you chance for winning), however all stamps are welcome for these challenges. Just create a NEW card, layout or altered item and share with us over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog or in our Facebook group (here).

The challenge runs for the month and there is a new chance to enter each Wednesday. At the end of the month a random winner will be chosen from the submissions and received a $20 gift card to the shop. Definitely worth playing for right?

This week at Little Red Wagon,

Susie is issuing the orders and her challenge this week is to DIE FOR! No really it's actually to DIE FOR. Susie wants us to use a die on our projects. Manual or die cutting machine your choice.

I am still having fun with a few altered projects and this week I decorated a small note book I picked up at Michaels (approx size 3x5 inches). I used the new ITTY BITTY FRIENDS from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. These mini images are great for these little projects.

My die cuts are simple. I used the Stitched Circles die (YNS) around my image and I created a matching bookmark for my notebook using a Bookmark die (YNS).

The paper used on the notebook is Simple Stories Enchanted.

I hope that you find time to join our TO DIE FOR challenge over at Little Red Wagon. While you are there stop over to the other Girlfriends blogs to see all of the inspiration they are sharing. Check out our Little Red Wagon Facebook group (here).
