Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge # 44 (Word Critter Cats & Dogs)

Hello and welcome to another week of the Your Next Stamp sketch/colour challenge #44.

Every two weeks, there is a new challenge that features a sketch and colour inspiration. Pick the one that inspires you most, or try both for an added challenge. The best part of these challenges is you could win a gift certificate to the YNS store!

When using the colour inspiration, you must use at least 3 colours. You may also add neutrals

This week I had fun using both the sketch and the colours for the inspiration on my card. I coloured up the little cat from Word Critters Cats and Dogs and also used the Stripe-tastic Rectangle Window Frame die.

For the Happy sentiment I used chestnut brown American Crafts Zing embossing powder. For the spots on this fun sketch I used a variety of Gumdrops (Love Me Some Latte, Love Earth and Candy Corn)

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

For the sketch/colour challenge # 44, you will have until Thursday August 4th (midnight EST) to play along. Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation.

One random participant will win a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature YNS products (it must be the main focus of your project), you will receive an additional $5. When you use a YNS stamp/die, there is a chance of being selected as the YNS top pick. The winner and top pick are announced on the YNS blog, the Sunday after the close of the challenge.

If you use YNS products on your project, you can also take part in the YNS Social Media challenge. Your Next Stamp July Feature (Sticky Note)

Welcome to the July YOUR NEXT STAMP feature post. Each month the design team uses specific stamps, dies or themes to create a project that will hopefully inspire you!

This month our theme is..........WATER!

As simple as this months feature theme may seem, I appear to be lacking in YNS water related stamps. This is something I need to correct immediately. I could have reached for a few new water related stamps/dies that were released recently (Flip Flop Fun, Flippin' Fabulous, Word Critter Gardening Birds), but I decided to give myself an extra challenge this month. My challenge was to use my water colours.

I dug out my distress ink for the fun effect on the background. I then inked up the STICKY NOTE frog and attempted to colour him with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush water colour markers.

I say 'attempt' because it took me a few tries with the water colours, till I was slightly happy with the outcome. The same can be said for the background. There was a lot of messy inky playtime, however,  I love how those came out.

Head over to the YNS blog to see all of the Design Team member sharing projects for this month's feature. Leave a comment on the blog post for the July Feature and you will have a chance to win a prize. One lucky stamper will WIN a YNS stamp set of their choice!

Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge #43 (Coffee is the Boss)

Hello and welcome to another week of the Your Next Stamp sketch/colour challenge #43.

This week I used Coffee is the Boss and played around with the sketch. I like to use the sketches as a starting point and add my own little flare. This sketch has a great design for a nice clean and simple card. I have made a lot of those lately and today, I worked a few additional layers into my version of the sketch.

The fun paper is Creative Agenda from Echo Park. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a few coffee splatters from the Coffee Rings stamp and decorated with the Love Me Some Latte Gumdrops

Inside the card I used the Java Geek stamp to decorate.

For the sketch/colour challenge # 43, you will have until Thursday July 21st (midnight EST) to play along. Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation.

One random participant will win a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature YNS products (it must be the main focus of your project), you will receive an additional $5. Your Next Stamp July DT Date (Flip Flop Fun)

It's time for the July Your Next Stamp Design Team Dare challenge. Each month the design team is given a special challenge to help show off the new stamps and dies released each month.

This month our challenge theme is.......FRAME IT!

There are a few ways that I could have chosen to use a Frame on my project. I could have even made something like a photo frame, decorated with YNS stamps and dies. I really wanted to use the fabulous Flip Flop Fun die set, so I decided to create a simple "frame" using my layers of paper. The striped paper creates a fun frame around the white cardstock. Both of the layers are die cut using the Stitched Rectangle die.

The sentiment on the outside and inside of the card, along with the darling crab are from the Flippin' Fabulous stamp set.

Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog and look for the July DT dare post. Leave a comment on that post and there is a chance that you could WIN a stamp set of your choice!

Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Your Next Stamp July Release Hop

Welcome everyone to the July new release blog hop at Your Next Stamp.

This month we have an amazing collection of stamps and dies for you to see. I am pretty sure you will find a favourite or two (or more) in this release.

As I sat down to create my new release cards, I had a really hard time with making one card for each of these amazing sets. Once the creativity started flowing, I didn't want to stop. For my preview of the Fairytale Friends I made two fun shaker cards (here). Today my first hop card set showcases the Paint Swooshes and Splatters and the Large Stitched Apple die. I am fairly certain this faux paint stamp is going to become my next "go to" stamp set. They are so fun to create with and there are so many great ways to play with them.

YNS supplies: Paint Swooshes and Splatters, Large Stitched Apple Die, Fancy Thanks, Scribble Fun One (sentiment). Other Supplies: Doodlebug Back to School paper

On my second card, I am used the fun Flippin' Fabulous stamp and the Stitched Circle Frame die to create another shaker card. I think that crab is way too cute!

YNS Supplies: Flippin' Fabulous, Stitched Circle Frame, Circles with Stitching and Piercing marks dies, Silver Tinsel Gumdrops Other Supplies: Echo Park Happy Summer

In celebration of this release, we have a wonderful deal for you!

Thank you for hopping along with us today. I hope you found a little inspiration and maybe a few stamps and dies that you'd like to add to your YNS collection. As you are hoping along today, remember to leave a comment for each of the designers. There will be a fabulous prize available for a lucky stamper ($25 YNS gift certificate). All of the blogs on the hop are listed below. The hop continues until July 5th at midnight (EST).

Don't forget to come back and join us July 6th to see the winner from the blog hop comments and check out the latest Design Team Dare.

Have a great day and happy hopping!

Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge # 42 (Thanks Note Card)

Hello and welcome to another week of the Your Next Stamp sketch/colour challenge # 42.

Every two weeks there is a new challenge that features a sketch and colour inspiration. Pick the one that inspires you most, or try both for an added challenge. The best part of these challenges is you could WIN a gift certificate to the YNS store!

When using the colour inspiration, be sure to use at least 3 colours. You may also add neutrals

For this week's challenge, I found inspiration in the colours. I decided to get a little inky and create a fun set of thank you note cards for one of my daughter's teachers.

To make the card with the inky background, I started by applying my four distress ink colours (Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, and Picked Raspberry) to my craft mat and spritzed them with water. I placed my water colour paper on top of the ink and removed it right away. Using paper towel I soaked up any spots that had an excess of water, then applied heat from my heat gun to dry. I repeated this step 5 more times on each of my backgrounds.

After all of the inked backgrounds were dry, I used my Fancy Thanks die and ran this through my die cut machine. With distress cards I matted them with black so the negative space for the thanks stood out.

To make use of the pretty ink coloured thanks, I used those along with the Apple die to create an additional 5 thank you cards.

For the sketch/colour challenge # 42, you will have until Thursday July 7th (midnight EST) to play along. Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation.

One random participant will WIN at $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature a YNS stamp or die (it must be the main focus of your project), you will receive an additional $5. When you use a YNS stamp/die, there is also a chance of being selected as the YNS top pick! The winner and "top pick" are announced on the YNS blog, the Sunday after the close of the challenge.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a fabulous and crafty day!
